German Spiegel points to a stealth bomber uncovered on Google Maps. Spiegel writes, “As you know it’s prohibited to get close to military bases, let alone photograph them. Usually satellite images which are made public online are retouched to blur scenerey which might compromise security. At least that’s what you assume in times of terror. However, the googling tourist stumbles upon a stealth bomber on a military airport in California. Apparently, someone forgot to paint over this one.”

I wonder if that's photoshopped. Tip to tip of the wings looks wider than the width of the hangar.

Goodbye TD.

When the Feds give you 20 years for compromising National Security, we will think about you on hikes.

I remember when they were building this thing originally and there was a lot of speculation as to what it would look like. Nobody in the media picked up on the unusual star painted on the tarmac in front of the hangar. It was there for weeks before the unveiling. The shape? It was five silhouettes of the B-2 arranged nose in to create a star. If I can find a link to the image, I'll post it.

Here it is...

Scroll around on that photo and you'll find a U-2 and a pair of SR-71s parked together.

I hate to break it to all you aspiring terrorists out there, but Google satellite views are not real time. Those images are at least several months old and it is well known that there are stealth bombers at Palmdale.

Also that isn't even an Air Force base, it's Plant 42.

The sat images can't be real time. It shows a car in my driveway and I know nobody is there right now.

It was really weird...Having lunch on the Chicago Lake Front the practice day before the Annual Air Show and seeing a Stealth appear out of no where--no noise.

I had one fly over my house a two years ago. I didn't know what was going one. As it turns out one of the colleges in the area had set it up so the plane would fly over their graduation commencement.
