What state are you from?, might make a shipping cost difference to those willing to donate gear.

What makes you think that you will like backpacking ? or is the gear just going to straight to E-bay ?? Have you done any backpacking, I mean we like to donate to causes where there is some possibility that the gear is for your use and not for resale.

What gear do you already have ? and what do you need, or think you need? and why ?

Where do you plan to hike ?

“i guess i really wasnt clear. first of all i had trouble figuring out how to post a message let alone putting something up for bid online. i didnt post this message thinking that i was going to get brand new gear. if anyone was getting rid of gear that they wanted to part with, that is the kind of thing i am looking for. i posted this message thinking that somebody out there might help me out. sorry i wasnt as clear as i shopuld have been. now i know.”
