Sunday and Monday, the Southern Apps. with their orographic lift are predicted to receive a lot of rain or an awful lot of rain if the storm track is somewhat east of the track now projected.

We're only just now receiving some spitting rain with all of the wind. It's a great day to go fly a kite! Actaully I could really use the rain, it's been dry here.

Light rain, little wind. A-OK.

The wind's picked up quite a bit and we have some good rain bands going through now. I love it! I've been out doing yardwork and related stuff all morning in the rain and wind. It's the only time I get to wear my raingear it seems. ;)

We now have tornado watches until 8 pm. I was just at Reeds and Rocks, a local nursery and groundcover company. I was only the 6th customer there for the whole day. I got booted out because they were closing early. :P

I also tested my new replacement boots; they're waterproof alright, but getting the leather really wet helped stretch them a little. Also, my Mt. Hardwear jacket got wet through in a matter of minutes. That sucks. I don't know if it's gear failure or just dirty; I tend to doubt the latter since I hardly wear this one. I prefer my pacific trails jacket.

It's sunny here now. We had the hard rain and wind this AM. It's only breezy now.

Great idea TB, yard work in rain gear, never thought of that.

Damn you Arlene. This storm is reaching havoc here and the main part of the storm isn’t even supposed to get here for another 6 hours. Warren County has gotten about 6” of rain in the past few hours. Both lanes of I-87 are closed between exit 23 and 25 due to a mudslide at exit 24. The Schroon River is already flooding. What a mess.

New Jersey has been bypassed by this beast, thanks to the High Pressure system just off the coast of Atlantic City. Instead, we've been having the worst heat wave for the last week or so.

We've still got wrecked trails to fix from last fall's fallout of Ivan...

You think that's bad; they're still cleaning up trails from 1999's hurricane Floyd around here.

I wonder if this storm is going to form any new slides in the High Peaks.
