I'm sure Jesus would be welcomed if he would stop dressing like a hippy.

Since Jesus dressed in the customary fashion of his day, I think he would probably dress in the customary fashion today.

I have to admit that it's just my thought.

So he'd wear pants hanging off his ass, a wifebeater tank, shaved head and a ball cap stuck off to the side?

I can see that.

That's not how I dress, nor is it how any of my kids or their acquintances dress. Is that how you dress? I wouldn't call that the customary fashion of the day. Maybe you would.

No Prob. I wouldn't be caught dead wearing that sh_t, either. However, I find it disturbingly remarkable how much money P. Diddy (as just one example of many designers) make peddling that over-sized, over-priced dreck! So, a lot of folks DO wear it.

no prob, jesus dressed in the customary fashion of poor people of his day, so HPM is right on.

he also hung out with hookers and other "low lifes"

wonder if jesus' type of companions would be welcome on the quad

A jew with long hair and a beard, wearing sandals, with body piercings, hangs out with whores and thieves, no visible means of support, a non-conformist ... definitely a reject!

I suspect he'd get the same from the church today as he got from the religious leaders of his time.

There are fundy orthodox Jews here.

The girls dress that way.
The only skin they show is hands and face.
Those who are married, and they marry young and get right to makin' babies, cover their hair.....wigs or snoods or even the occasional tamoshanter.
There was even a real hip kinda rebel amongst them who wore a baseball cap backwards.
I asked her if the hat took care of her hair-covering obligation......"yup!"

Anyone see this? I guess there's debate now about what Jesus died of. Some are saying it's an ambolism like you get from riding in coach.

When I originally read this story in another article, I thought the same as this guy from the above article:

Bible scholars said that focusing on Jesus’ physical suffering as the cause of death missed the point.

“What they are doing is the autopsy of the physical body, which is always interesting from an academic standpoint,” said Stephen Pfann, a Bible scholar in Jerusalem. “But if people concentrate on that part of the event alone they are missing the most important part, which is the spiritual suffering.

“The major trauma for the son of God is the spiritual trauma, the loneliness feeling the rejection of God and the shame of the world that came upon him at that point,” he said.
