Outdoor Research Downmat 7

“Was scoping one of these sleeping pads out at REI today. HFC they are dreamy to lay on. Anyone have experiences with these?

Was eyeing a BA bag which led to looking at the REM Aircore Pads. The Downmat pads were right next to them. Down insulation built into the core, stuff sack acts as a pump.

“I have experience with the equivalent of the present downmat 9 - great mat, doesn't slip around in the hammock, and keeps my butt warm in winter in the hammock. When I got the DAM from Exped they were not yet selling the downmat 7 series - I probably would have still gone with the downmat 9 just because of the extra R factor because my use of the mat in the hammock in winter.

Y2 I don't think OR bought Exped - I think OR is just a recently negotiated major distributor for Exped but I could be wrong - I just have not seen any news indicating anything more than a new distributor agreement
