Phucking Idjits!

“Prologue: Please remember that I/we inhabit a very different planet and some of this might be had for you to imagine.

We have our grad prom in our gym. Families attend (each grad gets eight tickets and there's an exchange system in effect). We have a bar and the proceeds feed a large part of the following year's activities.

This being a rural area, we bus the kids to a farm where they have tents set up for the après-prom bash. No-one drives and seperate parties (cliques) are extremely rare. Friends and family pick everyone up Sunday morning and the prom committee spends the day cleaning up.

The committe spent Wednesday (amusement park trip for the rest of the school) and to-day decorating. They have been working on the decorations after school all year long and it's quite something to see.

I pop in to tease my kids and a couple are hauling decorations up to the ceiling using a good climbing rope (we have a wall). There are old ropes (for teaching knots and technique on the ground) hanging on the wall of the Phys. Ed. office which is open and it takes a Phys. Ed. teacher to take out our current gear (it's the only key I don't have).

I can't blame the people there - they don't know, but someone left safety gear hanging round or let them have it.

Needless to say I had to give it a full length inspection - and it was filthy too! I bet they don't know that washing it and keeping it clean will add a year or two to its life.
