Are the martians trying to kill us?

I used to have a silver glitter jazz hat that I stole from one of my highschool boyfriends. (he had it because his mother made him do jazz.) I also used to have a long black velvet trench coat that dragged the ground because i was so tiny and it was sooooo long. (I looked kinda like I was floating and I had no feet)

Anyways, (I think we were 18 at the time)My male and best friend and I were waiting for the bus to take us into town from my house out in the boonies and I'm wearing this hat and coat. These two preppy guys in a convertable drive by, staring at the three freaks waiting for the bus... about five minutes later, they drive by again... once again, staring and laughing this time... then maybe about another five minutes or so later, they drive by again and stop in the middle of the road to ask,

"Why are you wearing tin foil on your head???"

I, of course not getting the joke, take the hat off my head and say (quite innocently) "It's a hat" while turning the hat this way and that, completely confused at why everyone was laughing.
