Spring Mountains near Vegas - pics

“I spent this past weekend in the Spring Mountains about 30 miles from Las Vegas. I made it to the top of Mummy Mountain (about 11,500'), but stopped short of Charleston Peak (about 11,900'). It was a beautiful weekend out there. I'm going to head back in the fall to do Charleston.

i've only had the oppurtunity to do day hikes in the spring mountains due to work. i love it up there. the bristlecone are something. i'll be back out there next spring. hopefully i can add a week to the end of my work and get some bag nights in.

“It's nice to see pictures from my neck of the woods. I was trying to make up there for a dayhike this weekend but ended up cleaning the garage instead. I'm surprised how much snow is still on Charleston, looks like the waterfalls and snow caves above big falls won't be happening for a few more weeks.”
