I thought of another dayhike option for you. County Line County Park is pretty close to you. I think around 4 miles away. Take County Line south as far as you can go, then go right (west) a block or so to the main entrance. There is also a parking lot on County Line Road. Besides a number of miles of hiking trails (some even with little hills), there is also a grist mill which grinds corn into true stone-ground corn meal. In their shop you can buy it as well as the maple syrup that they make on site.

There is a pet store here in Chesterton called Duneland Pet Store. Due to her husband's fibromyalgia, they are closing. Everything is 40-60% off. I thought of you guys immediately because little critters, food, and all the stuff that goes with it is marked way down. She had a giant millipede and a blue-toed tree frog, both very cheap. I know you probably already have both. They also have an alligator and three sugar gliders along with a number of hamsters and lots of mice. She is also selling all her display cases, bulk food dispenser, cages, tanks, etc. I am sure you can get some really screaming deals.

They are located on 12th Street near Broadway. Her last day is the 15th. Then they are going to auction off what's left.”
