“51 degrees here today. The past 5 or 6 days have been hot and humid, but this cooler weather is very much welcomed. It was 46 degrees when I woke up this morning and is supposed to be the same tonight. I love living in NH!”

“Harlock, I lived near the SC/Ga border for a few years, and NONE of the schools I attended had AC, except for the crapola little portables that at least kinda sorta cooled them off. That sucked.”

I walked twenty miles thru 105 degree temps barefoot thru the snow to get to school also. ;-)”

Went up to Cranberry Glades last Sunday and it was pretty COLD up there too with the front pushing through.

“Well folks....... as of 7:30 tonight... I have my HEATER on !!!!!

I went outside this morning, it looked overcasty and dismal, so I put off fishing, packed me some snacks and drinks and took off to Dolly Sods for the day to scope out next weeks hike. It was windy, cold and rainy all day.... just ugly..... After taking in the Sights of the Sods, I turned around and came back. Stopped at Seneca Rocks for a break and toodled on home. Nice day trip through the mountains for this Florida Flatlander I tell you that !! It is 58* here now. My daughter just called from Cape Canaveral and it was like 90* there and awful humidity.

I might stay up here in the hills for a while longer {:o)

The only mountain I have been on in California was Mount Palomar. I could not get over the difference in vegetation and terrain between the base of that mountain and the summit. At the base was one of the awfulest deserts I have ever seen (unlike many people, I loathe deserts and do not like being in them), but on the summit there was an enormous, vigorous, old pine forest with streams and springs and at least one lake.

Also, the heaviest rattlesnake population density I have ever witnessed. They were freaking EVERYWHERE!!!!”

“Ahhh.... so you were just growning up with the parents. Man am I getting old. In the early 80s I was married with 2 children, holding down a co-op job, and going to college full time.

BTW, not that HH has any surf but are you a surfer or did you try surfing at HH?

“No surfing. Lots of net casting and windsurfing, though. It was pretty cool for the G8 meeting they had there; talk about high security! Another cool thing was when Sugar Ray Leonard was training for a big fight there, a cnn crew fresh out of Reykyavik was driving down the beach to film him training. They got stuck/ lost right in front of our house, and then the tide came in; they lost most of their equipment to water and thieves; they rescued the camera though. I got a cool tripod case (they gave it to me) That had stickers from just about everywhere all over it. Wish I still ahd it. That van stayed on the beach for 4 days before it was towed away. When the tide rolled in I could hear the van bouncing off the big granite boulders that made up our seawall.”
