“I think I did that as a overnighter. When I get home I'll look at the maps. But I think I ended at 73 not 645. I think the only real buttkicker part is the climb out of port clinton.”

I was looking at the map you lent me today, this coming weekend would you like to tackle Hawk Mountain Road to 309? According to the map that is 11 miles and would leave 13 miles for the special trip ;) (with the New Tripoli campsite being a good friday night campsite)

“are you able to do an overnighter Saturday night? We could do the entire stretch from Hawk Mountain Rd to Lehigh Gap. It is a 24 mile stretch. We could even camp Friday night at Eckville Shelter if we wanted.”

“Just found out the wife has to work saturday AM till 10:00- I cant head out till she gets back. Come up with a plan ! Mabey do sunday AM? or dayhike later ? or I could meet up with you at 309 gap, hike the rest with you and shuttle you back to eckville. Start thinking !!”

“I got it. I'll start Hawk Mtn rd on saturday morning and camp at New Tripoli on Saturday night. That camp site is two miles north on the trail from 309. Maybe I can meet you at 309 on Saturday and then camp Saturday night. Sunday we can hike to Lehigh Gap.”

“I think that camp site is on a side trail at the bottom of the mountain, and you have to pay to camp. I'll check my guide book when I get home, but that plan sounds good. Its a good rocky hike from there to lehigh. Mabey I'll try the dog on the overnight for this one.”

“cool, let me know 'bout the CG. Probably be just as good to camp on the trail.”

“yo Todd. Thanks for everything yesterday. I went out and hiked some more today and just about stepped on a rattler and he let me know it. I finished the section from 225 to Clarks Ferry Shelter.

When you hiked to near Boiling Springs, where did you start and where did you finish? I will probably try and knock that section out in short out and backs after work.”

“I'm up for a small dayhike this weekend. I strained my ankle in the adirondacks this passed weekend and it was giving me some problems, so I want to go semi easy on it. Want to do an 18-mile section? jk maybe good to keep it 10 or under.
