One shook things up real good at my house last Saturday AM. Then there was the one Tues PM off the NorCal coast, they issued a brief tsunami warning for it. Just had another good shaker about 10 min ago. Its lookin like all you non-Californians are right, this place is gonna fall into the ocean - and soon!

Seriously though, as used to quakes as we are around here, this is more than we're used to. Three good ones in less than a week? And one 7+? "hey babe, how's our emergency supplies looking?"

It was a 5.3, east of San Bernadino. Fairly deep, so damage unlikely....

definitely no damage, its just a lot more movement in a short period of time than we're used to

The Gods are disappointed that Gem and Ruby left.... either that or those two really pissed off somebody somewhere.

I wish we hadn't missed them. Actually, one night one of the other people at Joshua Tree told us about an earthquake that had happened earlier, but neither Gem nor I ever noticed it.

I felt two of those earthquakes!!! Good rollers . The Yucaipa quake today rolled for a long time.

Now there have 4 in less than a week!
A 6.6-magnitude temblor hit about 125 miles off the coast of Eureka around 11:30 p.m., rattling the ocean floor. In the afternoon, a 4.9-magnitude quake struck east of Los Angeles, startling people and knocking items off shelves and desks.

hope this doesn't mean something really big is looming. Maybe all these are just letting pressure off the system and keeping it from being really bad.

I agree that lots of little ones is normal, and indicates healthy fault activity. It's when the little ones are too few that the pressure builds. But we're having a lot of mid-sized ones awefully close together. I've been in San Diego my whole life and I dont remember this much activity this close together.

Lots of little ones
Here are the Yellowstone earthquakes plotted for the last 90 days.

If there's ever a period of inactivity, I'm outta here!
