I seem to remember one friend using a Mary Chapin Carpenter re-make of a John Lennon song, "Grow Old With Me" The words were pretty nice and it was on a CD with country re-makes of John Lennon's songs. The CD is called: 'Working Class Hero - A Tribute to John Lennon'

The nice thing about Mary Chapin Carpenter is that she has less of a country twang, her voice has more of a gentle, folk-song quality. I've heard the song and it's very reflective... :-)

“Another vote for "Into The Mystic" I'd go with the original Van Morrison, but the Wallflowers version is good too.

Of course that was the song they used in "American Wedding" so people might think you're copyin' the movie.

But it makes such a great first song I'd go with it anyways.

“OTOH - will this matter 10 years from now? Just remember, all of this is the first step. It's easy to get caught up in the planning and get focused on the wedding instead of the marriage. The wedding isn't the target, what comes afterwards is. It comes down to this, don't sweat the small stuff, it's all small stuff.
