problem with uploads
I assume that it is the picture (file) size that I am having problems with, but does anyone know the size, in megabytes, that one is allowed? I just got a new, 7 megapixel camera, and I can't seem to get the 3+ Mb files into the album. The 2 megapixel photos see to upload just fine. Thanks.

You are correct, too big.
Images for the web should be measured in Kb not Mb. 3+ Mb is way too freaking huge for the web.

If you have some sort of image editing program use it to resize the image to a smaller file size.

A good pixel size for the web would have the largest of the dimensions in the 300-400 pixel range (just make sure you maintain the original aspect ratio). Shoot, my 2mp photos are too huge for the web...I usually make them about 1/4 - 1/3 of their original size.

Screen resolution is 72 dpi. If you had a photo that displayed 5x7 inches, that's about 2500 pixels. A compressed jpeg image that size should be well under 100 kb.
