Happy Fathers day dad. Thanks for teaching me a love of the outdoors. Every step on the trail I take you with me.

This is kind of a personal post for me. This past weekend I went for a weekend trip with my father of 67ish to a lake we both love here in Ohio where you can paddle into a camp across the lake from the main campgrounds. We spend much of our time around the fire talking about our past trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and about hoped for future trips. Well dad started in with the "When I die..." talk and he informed me that he has set up a 20 year account that is for nothing but his three kids, their wives and children to use for going to the BWCA.

I was so touched I didn't know what to say. My dad is always asking everyone when we are going for another trip and I had always thought it was because he wanted to go but I was wrong. It's because he wants to share the BWCA with others. And now he will ensure that generations of his family will be able to share it too.

that's cool you guys have that kind of relationship...my dad will probably just leave me with lots of resentment and hereditary hair loss

Sounds like a great guy, Nigal. Can't leave a better estate than that.
