best batman movie ever. as one of my movie companions last night said, the other ones dont even exist.

christian bale is perfect as a young bruce wayne. christopher nolan is perfect as director and co-writer. he really understands the nuances of the character and what makes him tick, and turns it into a credible action flick and not just a campy "comic book movie". possibly the best movie for geeks since return of the king

Looks very cool. I don't go to the movies very often (very few movies are worth $10 to see IMHO), but Batman Begins looks like a winner to me.

I'll have to check it out.

Took my son.
His favorite movie so far this year. I rather liked it, too. Indeed, it is the best BATMAN movie I've seen, considering that I never saw the last one by Schumacher after I heard how horrid it was.

Still, far better than the first two Burton films. Added quite a lot of depth to the Batman mythos.

I was never a batman "fan" until I saw this last night. Excellent movie and your right, Christian Bale was excellent. I'd see it again.

I'm not much of a comic-book-movie fan, but all the good reviews have persuaded me to go see it, and I like Nolan's previous work..Memento and Insomnia.

This movie was so long and boring, I felt actually tortured by sitting there and watching the whole thing. If I were by myself, I would have left. It was so slow.

I can't recommend this movie. It had a good premise and a lot of action, but was still boring and an hour too long.

Thank goodness I went to a matinee, the theater was empty, so I got the seats that have no other seats in front of you. I don't mean the first row, but the 2nd bank of seats or else I would have had to leave. If I couldn't have stretched my legs, I would have ended up with an embolism (blood clot) from sitting the entire movie.

If I had known in advance what this movie would be like, I would have rather sat on my porch (which I don't have) and watch the grass grow.

toph, Finding Neverland, Sideways, Mr. & Mrs. Smith are some of the newer ones I liked. I like action/adventure/drama/comedy, nothing goofy or stupid and no science fiction and no sentimental stuff as a general rule.

My husband thought Batman was okay, not great.

lh, you must have no imagination what so ever, or must know absolutely nothing about batman. were you expecting bat-nipples? or giant words on the screen like POW! and BAM!. I find you boring and unrecommendable

to be fair, if youre not into comic books in general or batman in particular, then i guess this would be boring to you. so, if youre not, then stay away. this movie is for the fans, not for the casual movie-goer. for those who understand the batman mythos at all, its a very thrilling movie

Sarge, see, that's why you can't trust Crash's opinion on Batman, LMAO!!!!

Crash, I don't consider this Batman movie to be of a comic book style like with Sin City. You really don't need any imagination for the movie. I didn't question his ability to fly or things like that where I thought it was unbelievable. After all, he is Batman. I just thought it was very slow.

The guy playing Batman, while he was okay looking, had no charisma. Even the original Batman in the tv series who is gay had more charisma. I forget his name.

no its not like sin city. why does it have to be? sin city was going for looking like an actual comic, stylistic, whereas batman begins was going for realism. the way its like the books is in the themes it tackles. batman/bruce wayne is a very tortured soul, wracked with guilt and grief over his parents death, with zero tolerance for those who prey on others. if your only exposure to batman is adam west, tim burton, and bat-nipples, then youve only skimmed the surface of the character and wouldnt be thrilled at seeing the psychological aspects delved into. i suggest you read alan moores "the killing joke" for a very dark and very realistic batman/joker/comissioner gordon story. it will defineitely change the way you think about batman.

Crash, I'm kidding you a little bit. Everyone has different takes on movies they've seen or books they have read. I really thought I would be more into this style of Batman movie just because of the psycological background. Maybe I'm just not a real Batman fan.

I think we both know that there will be a Batman Part II by the way it ended. Of course I won't say how it ended, but we both know! They are probably half way through filming part II already since it can be a year after a film is made before it hits the screen.

I just read a Dean Koontz book that got good reviews on Amazon.com, but I found it lacking.

Bat nipples? Were there bat nipples? I was too young to be into them if there were any. Now let's talk about crotch buldge, lol:)

I was into those Archie comic books when I was a kid.

Here is the bio for Christian Bale who played Batman. He's 6'2", so they should not have a problem finding a shorter Robin if they wanted to do that.

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000288/

Maybe that's why they went with such a tall actor to begin with. Then there would be a lot of choices for Robin.

Did some research, supposedly Christian Bale has a 3 Batman contract, along with Michael Cane reappearing. The site said if this Batman does well, others will be made, so maybe there is not one in the works right now????

I would think there would be atleast a script since it's takes a while to write, but who knows, only Batman does!!!!

Cruise is 5'7" according to imdb.com. They said this about him: 14 year old Franciscan seminary student Thomas Cruise Mapother IV. He was deeply religious.

Didn't his new girlfriend convert to whatever he is now, is it Scientology? What an airhead! How can people just switch religions, because the meet someone they like?

Yep, Mapother! Oh, you would be suprised at some of the real names of actors and actresses. Sometimes they can't even use their own name if some other unknown actor has it registered already with the Actor's Guild or whoever does that.

Actors and actresses many times change their names to something more appealing.

While on imdb.com looking at actors real names, I saw Tom Cruise got bent out of shape because Matt Lauer brought up Cruise's putting down Brooke Shield for using anti-depressents since Scientologists do not believe in therapy or drugs. He told Matt that Matt knew nothing about psychiatry and he did.

I think Cruise is a little off, but aren't we all in our own way.

His new bride to be isn't the prettiest actress around. I was surprised by his choice. She was the main female character in Batman. He had to kick Nicole to the curb since she's about 5'10"; he can't compete with that. I bet this one girl is shorter and dumber.

Crash, she's cute, but hot? I don't know. I guess she could be, but I only saw her in the movie where she was wearing business attire. She has a petite figure which people can think is not as hot, but I think a more curvacious woman would over shadow him.

I like movies, so therefore, I post! I'm interested in personalities too, but like Matt Damon says, he doesn't like people to know him personally where it may cloud how they see him on screen or what they think of him in general. When he said that, I think he was on Leno and Leno asked if he stopped smoking and he said yes, and I was surprised, because I couldn't picture him with a cigarette in his mouth.

Cruise is marrying a woman that exposed herself? It would think that nudity would some how go against his beliefs in Scientology, though Nicole Kidman was partially naked in a play. I'm not sure how much of her showed since she may have had her back partially to the audience.

Well, if she was naked, I wonder why the "rags" are not putting her picture on their covers? This is prime time for that kind of exposure which starlettes hate, because when they become famous, it comes back to slap them in the face and she will prbably not be more famous than she is now.

Okay, so Cruise thinks exposing yourself to the entire world is okay for a woman to do, but it's not good for them to take medicine for depression!

For eyes wide shut, Kidman was already a star. Why do a nudie? Does she really need the money or does she just have no morals? I guess that depends how you feel about nudity it if were you're wife. I would have thought at that point she could have a nudity clause where she had the right to refuse to be naked unless she's into it.

That is such bull#&%!$ when starlettes say they did it for the film and it had to be done or else the movie would not be the same as it was intended to be, and what was that, that eveyone the director and producer got to see them naked? What a scam!

there is nothing immoral about a naked human body, or being naked in a movie. its not like it was porn.

and no, its not always bullshet (tho sometimes it is). sometimes a scene calls for a red shirt, or a green dress, or blue trousers, and sometimes it calls for bare skin. "eyes wide shut" was a movie about sexuality. why put clothes on someone that would naturally have none? and yea, you can have sexuality with clothes on, blah blah blah, but remember that us men are much more visually-centered than you women. doesnt make you better than us cuz we go ga-ga over boobies, its just the way we're wired.

Batman...saw it last night...great!!! It really tells the tale of how it all began...Liam Neesom was an awsome character. Morals with no ethics, ethics with no morals...batman is the opposite and totally deserves the title of "The Dark Knight".
