Kudos to Ozark Trail manufacturers

I had gotten a screen tent for general outdoor fun and frolic in March or April at Wally World.

Never tried to put it up till Saturday. Low and behold, one of the pole sections did not have a smaller end for the other pole section to slip over. So I got a hammer and was pounding on it, trying to make it work, which it never did.

I called Wally World, where some youngster low-level manager got the bar code number, told me it was a closeout and, basically, he couldn't do anything. My voice rose at that point and I asked for the address. (geez, did the stupid kid really think I was gonna stalk him when he wouldn't give me "your address" -- THE STORE ADDRESS! DOH! LMAO!)

So I put a letter together, but then saw a number to call at Ozark Trail, which also goes by the name North Pole... go figure.

Just got a hold of them on the phone, in MO somewhere (again, go figure, lol). Had to sit on the phone for 20 minutes to get through, but at least the little message told how many people were ahead of me.

So finally I was talking to a customer rep. I explained the problem. "So, you need another female part?" she asked. I said, ummm, yeah, I do.

I told her I purchased it in March or April... told her I even had pounded the end to try to make it fit.

She said they'd send me a one-time free replacement pole, which I should have by Friday.

So where Wal-Mart sucked (at least at the lower levels), the screen tent manufacturer came through.

I anxiously await it... and seeing if I CAN actually get that thing up by myself!!

I wanted to post this because I know people sometimes don't think much of the "low end" camping equipment manufacturers. But... this one came through.
