Camping around Provo, UTView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 2 of 2 messages posted.
“Hey all, I am in a band. Tommorrowwe depart with a two van caravan of 12 people who are leaving to travel from Tennessee to California through Colo - Utah - Nevada. Along the way we will camp on the nights when a hotel is not provided by the music club. We have stayed at Medicine Bow Ntl F. in Wyoming and Humbolt NF in Nev. before as well as others. We usually car camp in the places where there is a trailer spot with a pad for tents, set up and cookout pack up in the AM and move on. As a rule of thumb we stray from KOAs and such. So here is my question, we need to find a place around Povo in the Uinta NF area. Any suggestions. Most can be hard to get a spot on weekends and need to be reserved ahead of time. Wasatch State Park near Heber is a good one but difficult to get a reservation. You might try any of the ones on Highway 92, those are all good ones or the Payson Lakes area (Nebo Loop Road) by Mount Nebo. http://www.utah.com/database/campgrounds/?id=0 http://www.outdoorsinutah.com/mirrorlakehighway-camping.htm http://www.utah.com/stateparks/wasatch_mtn.htm” 3:22:20 AM 6/21/05
