Possible Catskills hike - This Weekend!!

“Thought I'd start us our own thread.

MarkO - if you're in and can give two sexy "broads" a lift up to the Catskills, we could do the Blackhead Range.”

“I haven't bagged any Catskill peaks.

Baggin' two broads and some peaks looks good.”

“We could start at the parking area off of Black Dome Valley Road. Wonder if we could hit Thomas Cole and Black Dome on Saturday....camp between Black Dome and Blackhead....climb Blackhead on Sunday and double back out to the car.”

“If we camp in between the two peaks - we can drop off our gear and extra water prior to baggin' the first two peaks (which btw is a roundtrip deal)”

“we should head out on Friday night so we can get an early start on Saturday

I'm trying to figure a route out for us...any suggestions?”

“well, the place between the two peaks I'm thinking of is below 3500 - so we can camp and do a small fire

I'm not familiar with this range but it looks like we can get three peaks bagged at a good pace for us (not a killer pace in other words!)”

“Don't want to get in the middle of anyone's plans here. But, I have an offer, if it strikes you guys. I was looking to take the kayak and our windsurfers out on Sunday. We found a spot last night in Staten Island. If you folks want a fun day doing that, you are welcome to join me/us, depending on what maple wants to do. Landstalker wants her to take him kayaking. I was also thinking of possibly taking them to a spot out towards Long Island, maybe, too, if that becomes feasible. The possibilities are endless here, people. But, we can make this a larger effort, if everyone wants to go...
