New job - I'm pysched!

“I am about to accept a new position with a company based in Boston, however, I get to work from my house Memphis! The best thing is I will get to travel all over the U.S., and Internationally! Now I can get up in the Northeast and out west to do some serious trails! WOOHOOO!!!”

“I'm going to be a Loss Prevention consultant for a company who represents some pretty large retailers. It's going to be a blast!”

“I have once again convinced a group of people to pay me a ton of money to do a job in which I have no experience, in a field which I know absolutely nothing about.

“Dayhiker, My new field is spend management analysis.”

“Are you giving lessons?

Wish I was in a similar position!”

“It's all about networking I guess. Make lots of connections. I hadn't even started looking for a job yet, someone mentioned my name and they called me.”

“So you're paid to spend money, cool. Seriously though, I thought you were in a technical field. Sounds more like a finance background. I have a friend that's an investment banker for a large bank. Cool gig.”

“There's a tech side to it. Not paid to spend money, paid to analyze how others spend money.”

“Is that sort of like window shopping?”

“Not exactly, it's looking at how a company is spending it's money and letting them know how they could spend it more effectively.”

“Bison: "OK, I've analyzed your spending. It appears that you routinely spend 8 dollars on a gallon of orange juice. You could be spending either 6 dollars or 9 dollars if you purchased different brands. That concludes my report. My invoice is in the mail."”

“Cool. Not to get personal, but do you have a tech undergrad and an MBA? If so, I've heard that's a great combo.”

I've got to find a way out of manufacturing.....just got laid-off last Thursday, due to "downsizing" read that poor management. Now I'm looking at my options to see how I can make this turn around.....any ideas?”

no dayhiker, it is the same job. I was hired about 1 1/2 months ago but it did not start till Aug 15th. I am also learning a lot about plants and there eating habits. It is very interesting so far.
