Or my wife did. Our son was born last monday at 9:30pm 9lbs 6.5 ounces 22.5 inches long. Both he and mom are doing great.
Child birth is just a wonderful thing, to think that two people can make a new little person.

Congrats! Welcome to the world of fatherhood!

Child birth is pretty cool! My wife had our first a litte more than 4 months ago. Being a dad is the coolest thing in the world.

Give me a shout if you need advise on anything.

Couldn't find a good thread for this...
http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/08/14/crash.birth.ap/index.html

PAHOKEE, Florida (AP) -- A pregnant woman in labor, driving herself to the hospital, crashed her car and gave birth while trapped in the mangled, partially submerged vehicle, authorities said.

Kenyetta Biggs spent more than an hour in the car Sunday morning before she -- and her newborn daughter -- were rescued and taken to a hospital, authorities said. Her father said she had not told the family she was pregnant.

Biggs, 21, suffered a broken leg, but she and the baby she named Myracle were reported to be doing well.

I wanted to name my kid "Harry" but my wife wouldn't let me.... those that know me think about it for a bit and you'll get it...

or the woman that named her baby after words that appeared before her eyes as she was rushed into delivery: knozzmoking

(google it)

it's a jazz tune too, damn good one. wynton marsalis did one of my favorite recordings of it (Knozz-Moe-King ... live at blues alley)

This is NOT a joke.

When I was in college I knew a woman whose name was Delicious. I kid you NOT. Everyone wanted to know Delicious... in the biblical sense... and not for her looks (although she was very attractive). It was a trophy sort of thing. Talk about setting your kid up...

I knew Delicious but... ahem... didn't know her. I was a "nice guy"... unlucky at love as it were... i.e. a geek in the Math and Physics departments.

CONGRATULATIONS LtHiker!

Carrying a baby that large through the summer? I'll bet your wife is ecstatic about the birth.

There's a woman living in Flint, Mi. who named her daughter Dee-air-ee-a, spelled Diarrhea. She saw the word, not knowing what it spelled, and thought it would make a pretty name.
