I've never been paid so little per hour, including benefits, as I was in the military. Other than vacation, which I had to take so I took at the very end of my service, I often worked 7 days per week. I remember going a month getting no more than two hours sleep per night and no shower in the middle of the desert. More than a couple times we'd go 7 months straight without seeing loved ones. And you know what? I totally loved it, not because of what we didn't get to do, but because of what we WERE doing. I loved doing it for this country. And that isn't CRAP compared to some of the sacrifices that some on here and many in the military have gone through. So if you want to equate that kind of job to somebody who receives free handouts from the taxpayer because they had 6 babies out of wedlock and "don't like to work but still need a 46" LCD television to play their XBox 360 on", as some kind of socialistic program, somebody needs to take away your "I is smart" t-shirt, because it doesn't fit.”
