Nice board. I'm new to the board and to backpacking. I live in Alabama and have found the Sipsey/Bankhead area.

So far I've hiked to the Caney Creek Falls and the small (2nd) falls on South Caney Creek. Incredible.

We parked at the wrong place and bushwhacked the entire way to both falls. Whew! I now know where to park as we hiked out on the old FS road.

We just hiked the 206 trail (Thompson Creek)in the Sipsey yesterday. We passed the 206/201 marker and continued to the 209 junction. We also looked for the creek leading to the Kings Cove waterfall but missed it both on the way in & on the way out. Can anyone shed light on just how to find this creek & falls?

Also, I was watching "Discovering Alabama" and they showed a waterfall below the fall line in Alabama that they called Hidden Falls. Does anyone know how to find this wf?

Thanks all!

I think the important question is whether you are a republican or a democrat?

I'm baaaack. Thanks for the replies and the welcome.

Call me dumb, but.... WTF is "a fuego"? Does that mean a flame thread?

@HOI: I hope so. I've seen all the pics from many of the folks that were there last year and it lookes like y'all had a blast. I've also read DayHiker's Quillen Creek trip report. It's what made me HAVE to try the Sipsey area. My wife & I will be there if there is a trip this year. As a matter of fact, we are taking 2 of our children to camp in the Sipsey this weekend.

All: Can anyone tell me where/how to find the trail/creek to follow to get to the King's Cove wf? We missed it twice somehow this past weekend. Pics would be nice. ;-)

Also, does anyone know where "Hidden Falls" is in Alabama. When my kids saw it on Discovering Alabama they saw that you could find a few shark's teeth there and they went nuts. It's supposedly BELOW the fall line somewhere.

See y'all on the trail!
