I am not sure the way we will be traveling. I was thinking on taking 65 south to Indy then 70 srtaight across Ohio and over to 79 south (I think).

Finding you with out the cell may be a bit tough. I have motorola 2-ways that we could stay in contact with as long as we do not wander out of their 2 mile radius.

“That was a route I was thinking about too WK, but I thought the farther south in Indy and Ohio the more rain you'd hit from Dennis. Mapquest had both Ruby and I heading to PA and then south but it didn't look like the shortest route.”

I like the route south for another reason. Perhaps I can meet Gonzo somewhere to get him his kite poles. I think he lives in southern Ohio somewhere.

Just my son and I....leaving from GR. I don't really see a decent way of meeting up without us having to do some backtracking. What's 27 like between Fort Wayne and I-70?”

“Yep. I've had them for a year now. He (or his son) forgot them on the ferry from North Manitou Island last summer, and I've been holding them for him all this time.”

When you hit the small little towns, it will slow you up a little, but you can usually keep up a good pace.

Perhaps we can meet up at the Richmond exit? I believe it to be the last exit in Indiana. We can use that stop to fill up and strech the legs.

Only problem is how do we meet? A gas station would work, but I do not know what stations are down there. We could say that we will meet up at the station, right off the interstate that has the cheapest gas and if there are more than one with the smae price, go to the station whose name is first alphabetically. How does that sound?

Ruby is picking me up at roughly 7:30, although you may want to get to my house at 7:00 to allow for time to pack. Then we need to get Nicole. If we can get on the road by 8:00, mapquest puts us in Richmond in 3 hours and 47 minutes. That makes it about 11:30.

I think if you can time it so you get there around that time, we stand a good chance of hooking up and convoying to our objective.”

“Here's my suggestion. Forget about trying to meet at a gas station based on gas price or alphabet. Let's just get gas wherever we can when we need it.

Let's meet at the first rest area that you come to in Ohio on I-70. We can stop there for lunch, which allows at least a 30 minute window or more. According to my atlas, there is an rest area immediately after the first exit in Ohio, looks like it's only a few miles from the Indiana border.

But we will only stop of the place has its gas priced at $2.30 or lower and only if 2 of the facilities windsheild cleaning containers have at least 1 gallon of blue liquid in them.”

“Changing the gas prices mid-day isn't so funny. My wife and I were camping at Best Western in Manisitique, MI. a couple weeks ago. The gas station near the motel posted prices at $2.17 in the morning. After a day trip came back, and the price was $2.27. And it really wasn't vacation season, yet.

BTW, national average for a pint, I mean a gallon was $2.32--yesterday.”
