My new dehydrator that is :) I jsut made up a recipie and it tasted so good mike ate half of it even before I could get it to the dehydrator- I just need to find a way to add more calories cause I want to be able to use it as one of the meals on my thru hike.

Chili mac (2-3 servings)
All the ingrediants are dirt cheep.

2 1/2 cups uncooked elbow pasta
15 ounces (one can) of meatless chili beans
1 1/2 cups spaghetti sauce
1/2 tomato chopped up or you can use 1/4 cup salsa if you like it really spicy.
2 garlic cloves minced ( i think i will add more next time as I love garlic)
about 1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons parmesan cheese

I cooked the pasta according to the box directions then drained. added the beans, speghetti sause, tomato, garlic, salt and cheese. mixed it allup and heated it breifly and put it on my dehydrator tray...

it tastes good fresh so the next step will be to see how it rehydrates using the freezer bag method.

I got all my ingrediants at Aldiz so they were really cheep.

dehydrate the veggies(frozen corn and peas, shreadded carrots, onions)seperately from the meat. i use a good deli meat sliced thin. i put all if this in a zip lock freezer bag and add some beef stew seasoning and a little flour. add boiling water and slip into a cozy for 10 min. i use instant potato's and pour the stew mixture on top. you cal also do the same thing with a stove and pot. and all you have to do is leave out the meat and add more veggies.

This used to be one of the only subs in which Quiznos would actually add a substantial amount of meat. In the past year or so (at least in my experience) some of their other subs have finally caught up. I hate the subs that are mostly bread.

Mmm......toasty.

If I can't get to one of those subs, I head over to the salt shaker and inject it's contents straight into my veins.
