“ha, I can relate. I got home a nearly 4am. On the way home I was thinking about a few weeks off from the trail, but by the time I got home, I was thinking about where to hike next and when.

The only problem with the Devils Path is the point to point shuttle thing.

Here are some pics from the Wittenberg, Cornell and Slide Loop (or WCS). Very cool and hits up 3 of the Catskill 35ers. The Devils Path hits up 5, but gives you access to 7.”

If you do that, you could also work in Panther Mountain and Giant Ledge is worth checking out too. Giant Ledge is also considered to be the ultimate back country campsite in the Catskills. So you could push on the trail all day and then camp there and then finish with 4 miles the second day and do a side trip up to Panther (which is one of the 35ers, that would give you a total of 4 35ers).

Slide is very cool and it is fun climbing the ladders up to the top. The loop has some really cool scrambles. They are some of the funnest scrambles I have ever.. errr.. scrambled.”

“wow, Woodland Valley is a pretty awesome campground and has hot showers, which Devils Tombstone does not. In best Johnny Carson voice I did not know this...

Maybe that should be the new base of ops in the Catskills for now on. Although there is no Gerry at Woodland Valley...”
