Spindlette, all of my gear should be here friday, minus my hammock. I have a prior commitment in Reading this weekend, and the last weekend of the month I'm going to a concert, but I'm open most other weekends. So if there are any trips around 5-10 miles a day, I'm in. I'll bring the shotglass next time complete with a large bottle of some decent tequila and maybe a bottle of some lesser tequila for when the taste buds stop working. Are there any other types of alcohol I should bring?

..and here come the excuses. We imported our chef from N'awlins, you know. AL isn't that far! No_granola even went to work Sat. morning and came back for the hike.

You miss the next one and you will be taunted mercilessly.

Did someone say hot tongue is cooling off?

I have not gone golfing in almost two weeks. Anyone who knows me can testify that's a huge deal. If golfing was out of the question... no way I could have gone to Pa :D

Just started brewing a new pot of coffee. We'll take care of that cooled off hot tongue.

Who's tongue is cooling off?

Ox, you don't want to pack in/out too much. And I'll contribute too, as will anyone else who goes. That's more than enough tequila, maybe.

It's probably best to fit the alcohol to the trip, instead of the other way around, huh?

Uh hello. My name is spindle and I have a problem...

Spindle, That makes sense. Maybe I can fill a Nalgene that I can fill the next day with water or something.

Hog On Ice, I've never heard of that. If I see it, I'll try it.

Blaming Jose for your inability to control yourself or for your hangover is wrong. One can get to the same place on Patron or any higher end alcohol if one tries.

You’re wrong, because I can't afford to buy enough of the good stuff to get that drunk.

I've started to pick up bartending shifts at my restaurant. All you have to do is come on down. I'll charge you for the first Patron only. Of course a big fat tip is required at the end of your binge.

But be warned: I have no formal bar training, The last Patron Marg I made was damn clear! ;)

Well instead of a nalgene, maybe I'll find a more disposable source. Or maybe I'll designate that one as the alcohol only nalgene

Bitpusher, have you ever gone to the JD distillery? Ironically, it's in a dry county, so no samples.

It's been a few years since I went on the tour. I drove past it on the way to a camping trip in November though.

Yes, Moore County is dry, and from what I've heard, likely to stay that way. Apparently in Tennessee, in order to have a wet/dry referendum, a county must have 2500 registered voters on the rolls. Moore County is very small and does not yet have 2500 voters on the rolls. Its likely that even with a referendum, they would stay dry.

Using any kind of plastic bottle for alcohol, well........just ain't right.

Not only does the alcohol taint the plastic bottle but the plastic taints the alcohol.

Lexan is the least problematic but the softer the plastic the more the molecules migrate to the booze and Lexan is no exception.

Then again, maybe you will get a better buzz with chemically enhanced booze.

I didn't notice a taste difference in the liquor I bought in a PET bottle, but I have noticed a taste change when I put liquor into a plastic bottle not designed to hold it.
