I've packed and repacked about 8 times now. Both my pack and the pre and post trip bag for Monty's. You should just come over tonight and we'll go out for drinks in town. LOL

“Hey I've been busy! Got to Philly and had a delayed flight. Seems the whole east coast was socked in with weather and delays. We sat on the ground in the plane for at least an hour. Flew into Atlanta and changed planes barely making my transfer and arrived back in N'awlins only to find that my luggage didn't make the trip. Stood in line for an hour at claims then drove home somewhere near 1 AM. Had two rough nights at work and slept all day. They called for me to work tonight as well but I'm not answering.

Anyway the trip was great. I really enjoyed meeting all of you. It was a great time and and my first trip to the Northeast. You people drink the best beer I've ever tasted. People here in the south drink Touron beer. You people removed all myths I ever had about YANKEES being unfriendly and snobbish. Outside of the traffic on the Skull-Kill (sic) I wouldn't change a thing. I will definitly look forward to spending time with you guys again. Glad you enjoyed the red beans and gumbo.

I don't live in either Stovie. I live on the bayou! N'walins is 50 miles southeast and Baton Rouge is 30 miles Northwest of me. I wouldn't want to live in either one. I come from a little island in the swamp called Maurepas. Currently we reside on the Amite River near Port Vincent. It is a great place to live.

“oh man, there is so much to do there.

Why you can canoe or kayak down through the canyon/gorge on the Pine Creek. Rent a mountain bike and bike the rails to trail through the gorge. Definitely check out the Golden Eagle Trail/ Loop - it is on the opposite side as the BFT. We did it Jan 1st and it was surprisingly a really fun hike. Ravens Horn is the highlight. We accessed it via the southern trailhead on 414 and then did a side trip up the Bob Webber Trail which goes to some pretty cool view points and then bushwacked (steep bushwack) back down to the GET and then completed the loop.

You can also check out that new section of the MidState Trail that Jmitch did.

Thanks for the suggestions ~ I actually have NO plan right now (other than go and do)...but those are some great ideas. I've been wanting to get back on the MidState too...so I might look at that option. I did another portion of the Quehanna Trail last weekend...wouldn't mind doing the last part of it...but the MST is tempting. Very tempting.”
