Canadian ferry emulates New York's

“WEST VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 30 — A ferry lost power, plowed through several boats and crashed into a marina Thursday as it tried to dock at Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver.
British Columbia Ferries spokeswoman Deborah Marshall said there were no reports of injuries. The vessel missed its berth, she said.

“Wow! That's a big ferry. I guess the one going from New Brunswick out to Grand Manaan was about that big.”

“wow... And I thought it was exciting just watching the ferry squeeze through the chute!”

“Speculation this evening is that the ferry captain threaded the ship between the intended berth and the larger dock at the marina. It wiped out the smaller dock and a couple of dozen boats on its way to a soft landing, rather than crashing into the berth. No injuries.”
