Gorilla GOOOOOO not Glue !
What a crappy product!
I refinish antique furniture as a hobby. I usually use a 2 part epoxy for repairing chair spindles and legs, but I thought I'd give Gorilla Glue a try as it is "supposed" to be a good product.
RRRRIIIIIIGGGGGGHHHHHHTTTT...
Maybe for a kids school project using paper and pipe cleaners. This stuff is crap.
Nothing beats a 2 part epoxy.

You thought this might be good for antiques?

I actually like Gorilla Glue. I don't suppose you wet the wood?

When all else fails, read the f'in directions. I've gotten good results (with chair legs especially.) The only thing I don't like is sometimes it'll ooze out of the joint.
Were you working with maple?

working with Oak dinng chairs. 8 spindles in the back. They are going to look great when they're completed.

Polypropalene glues are best applied to the SIDES of the spindles as this glue EXPANDS as it cures & can push spindles / wooden plugs out of the holes.

I'm using gorrilla glue today. I have & like titebond too. Have a couple plastic cabinets for my camping gear but now want an amoire. I've been pricing them around 1k, so decided to build my own. My front & rear concrete walks are done. My porch is almost wainscoted & I've been burning myself with my torches, mig & stick welder because it's too hot to wear cover. I think Shaker style. I have 1 side biscuit jointed, gorilla glued & clamped up on the floor of my computer room. Tomorrow, I may do the other side while the wife, kids & grandkids are camping in Lake George.

Yes

I used to want the latest toy. No more. I'm more than happy with what I have. Got rid of a LOT of junk. Don't start fires except in sub zero winter & rarely cook. Rarely camp except when canoeing. I can get in & out of most places in the catskills & Dacks in a day. Don't mind bad weather (except fog & loss of vista's) Don't mind starting in the dark & love winter hiking by a full moon.

After 30+ years of hiking, I always seem to end up pretty close to my jeep. (I do bushwhack) So I'd either sleep a couple hours in that (2 is fine) or drive to my home in the Catskills or my brother-in-laws in the dacks. He hikes virtually EVERY weekend for the past 35 years yet he'll ask questions of other hikers & they treat him like a new jack.

My wife doesn't hike/backpack but she loves pop-up car camping which I hate. We both go anytime we want but I'm limited as to how long I can stay in the woods. I usually tell her I'm gonna be a day or two longer in case I do want to stay somewhere.

I should prob re-phrase somewhat. My ski's & paddles (not to mention canoes/kyacks) don't fit in an armoire. I keep my sleeping bag(s)- Thermarest in my car or SUV's for emergencies, naps or whatever. My wood & metal snowshoes hang on the wall along with trekking poles & ice axe. My old beloved composite external frame backpack hangs in a bag in a storage closet in the (ground floor) basement.

But the everyday stuff that makes the mess. I HOPE to fit in the armoire. Of course I just increased the size (adding another board to my panal) today.
