Given blood lately?

BTW...I've had several people ask me about the tattoo and piercing thing...as long as it was done at a licensed parlor then it's OK to donate blood. Here in TN and in KY all parlors are licensed and closely monitored by the state for sanitation.

So unless you got your tattoo in prison...go donate!!!”

“I had Hep A twice when I was a kid (can you say First Need water purifier?) and was always told I could never give blood and it always bothered me.

Anyway, a few months ago there was a blood drive at our school and it really put me in a funk that I couldn't participate.

Suddenly I thought - I've never given a girlfriend Hep A, so what gives?

I told my story to the nurse and when I said it was almost fifty years ago she put me throught the selection process.

I am now a registered donor and they call me at regular intervals. I got called two weeks ago and they will call me again in mid-August.”

“there's a restriction on donating blood if you've traveld to certain countries during some specified time frames.

So yeah, a lot of soldiers are likely precluded from donating.”

“Ewker - mad cow is the problem with donating after being in England - the blood donating organizations are highly motivated to keep that possibility out of the blood supply”
