We arrived Friday afternoon Juniper Springs in Ocala NF, FL, and established camp. After checking out the area we had some supper. The others, two adults and three children, went to hear a Ranger and watch his slide show. They returned excited about the things that they saw and learned. We enjoyed a nice campfire. The Park sold us some heavy hardwood, which burnt real good. I received some birthday gifts and we celebrated with some Blueberry Pie! The night was hot, but I fell asleep quickly. I had been up since 4 A.M. and had a nice swim of a mile before 7 A. M.

This morning, Saturday, after breakfast, the others went swimming in the cold, spring water. I just watched and wondered how I would manage to swim at Cape Cod in September in water about 67°F . Here the water temperature from the Spring was 72°F. Due to extreme humidity I was about as wet as the swimmers. About 10 A.M. we received some rain. With Dennis not too far away the forecast was for more rain the rest of the day and night.

I was only too happy to follow their suggestions to break camp and return to Melbourne.

We heard lots of wildlife, including a growl, and saw hawks, owls, baby frogs, deer, etc. Overall, it was a great trip.

Just after I left the weather there cleared, so the others stayed most of the afternoon. But I doubt if the humidity dropped.

We just had a strong rainstorm during the last hour in Melbourne. In fact, it is still raining in sheets. How are you doing with Dennis, cyndeee?
