Pioneer Basin, Sierra's BP pictures finally posted
I have finally added my trip pictures of my backpacking trip I did last August 2004 into the Pioneer Basin...after almost a year going by!

This was a 4 day BP trip into a very beautiful part of the Sierra's...It had been on my to do list of BP trips to get to. It's a great hike in there, good trails, plenty of water along the way, and beautiful views. We camped at the 1st very lowest lake you get to before you get to the higher Pioneer basin lakes...Buck suggested to camp here because of the views are really beautiful! Thank you Buck.

I have only added a few albums to my webshots...so im still learning about the size I should have my pictures at...so if they are to large I do apologize. Hope I get the link on here right

That's a great spot MIT - I was there last July 4th weekend, apparantly right before you... they're some of my fav pictures! My shots of Ruby lake are similar to yours, and what a gorgeous view from Mono Pass over to the basin.

BUT, your flower pics are awesome, I didn't get any of those on that trip!

Wow, madeintahoe®! Fantastic shots! It looks like you gals covered some ground, from above Fourth Recess Lake to upper Pioneer Basin to Golden Lake! This weekend I'm going into the Ansel Adams Wilderness for a few days and after that I plan on going back into Pioneer Basin. Those are inspiring images!

Hello Buck...Thank you so much for suggesting camping at that 1st lower lake..we are so glad we did...the views were really beautiful & had great sun in the morning. I thought the hike up to Golden lake was very pretty..you follow the outlet creek up, it was still all green and lush with flowers. You have a wonderful time in the AAW this weekend...and please post pictures, I have really missed seeing your pictures posted here. How are Heidi & Sierra?

Wanderer..where did you camp back in there? We were a bit surprised to still see those flowers...because this was the middle of August we went, we were thinking the flowers would be past there peak

Thank you all for posting back

SN, I too just adore those froggies..they are so dang cute. Thank you so much for letting me know the names of the wildflowers..I need to start studying my flower book so I know the names of them...I can't find a picture of the pale yellow one.

PepperDog, thank you! You need to get there one day..it is a beautiful area of the Sierra's and you can take your doggies there, lots of creeks and lakes for them!
