Got a news bit on NPR this morning. Kudos to a bit of European environmental politics.

Farmers are getting added subsidies for practicing good environmental policies...eg. not tilling up to the edge of a waterway...or planting a field of wildflowers for songbirds...or not using dangerous chemicals. They also get all subsidies stripped if they are found in violation of environmental policies. We could learn a few things over here?
