Black Forest Trail - Labor Day weekend t hru hike

“going to start Friday night, september 2nd and finish monday, september 5th. 45 mile loop with lots of elevation gain and loss and creek fords.

Awesome scenery though. should be lots of fun.”

Look, honestly, I don't hold a grievance to you. I think its great your doing what you do, but, always getting your butt kicked or pulling muscles, or getting blisters all the time, whats the point. If you enjoy subjecting yourself to pain, thats ok, theres a word for it though...masochistic. I read your trip reports and wonder where the magic is. There seems to be no "story". No heart...lots of facts, but no soul. We each get out of this activity what we want...you call it a "sport". I call it life. I treat each trip with reverance and seek some sort of "moment" with greatness...you blaze on down the trail to get to the end so you can "chalk up another one"...me, I never want to reach the end.

Reaching the end is a sadness for me, its the most depressing part of any of my treks...floating, backpacking, riding my bike, whatever, I always dred the end. I wish it could go on and on and on, but maybe thats the Hobbit in me.

Here is where you are wrong my friend. You continue this charade desparately clinging to perpetuate hate. Why do you carry on this torch? For what purpose? The power to forgive and to forget supercedes all acts to intentionally derail someone's soul. Clearly you are misguided. You need to get over it dude. Why do you persist with holding a grudge against me about something that had nothing to do with you. You're afraid that your friends will derail you if you were to accept me as a friend or just to simply acknowledge me. This my friend is the truth you can't deny. These matters I speak of, in my mind, are long put to rest. They hold no meaning to me. I'm not here to judge your TR's or anyone else's for that matter, we all have our own styles. I'll call it constructive criticism. Being an Artist, I get it all the time whether you like it or not. Your degree of maturity will define your character when you react to criticism. Simply, in your case, it's the bravado, and intentional abuse of boasting about materialistic values. This is what is at question here. You're projecting the little brat nerd kid that lives down the block. Examine what you write and how you write. Yeah....we hiked 79 miles in 3 hours, both feet have major blisters, my butt got kicked, etc. What is the purpose and value of this information. And then you expect everyone to say....yeah...that's cool....nice, congratulations, and so on. Like Stikmon said, this is no sport. There is no competition. The message from God lies within the woods, the desert, the canyons and it is up to you to find what that message is and how it can change your life. Continually, bragging about hiking 47 miles in 2 days has no message to deliver. Again, it's my opinion. I know, the sophmoric response will be "hike my own hike" or some other shallow intellectually deficient comment. But personally, I like to know what you, Rob, learned when you entered God's wilderness. How did it change your life and what impact did it have. And most importantly how will you utilize and apply what you learned to your life and share it with other lives. Will you continue to hate another soul and perpetuate the hate convincing other innocent souls that this hate is good? So, take a long look in the mirror and realize what you're doing is wrong. Hate is evil and I will fight all forms for the Love of God.”
