1P Tent
OK, ive been looking for a new 1P tent for a while and went to REI today to check a couple of the front runners out inclucding the hubba and Eos 1, both way to short. I'm 6'0 tall and by feet touched the bottome. I want a tent to stay under 4lbs if I can but need more length. any other tents you can suggest?

Sierra Designs Mach 1 ~ 3lbs 10oz (without the footprint), 2lbs 4oz fastpack weight.

I'm 5'6" and have more than enough room to stretch out BUT...it's only 31" high and I can't sit up straight in it. You definitely won't be able to. Has nice features, well ventilated, dual track vestibule for an awning set up with trekking poles. I love this tent.

Henry Shires Tarp Tent.

Probably only very good for summertime.... but i love mine. It'll come in around 2 pounds I'd guess.

I'm 6' and I have the Hubba.
I don't have any problems with the length or the height. Now width, that's a little bit of a problem.
All in all I'm VERY happy with it.

I like room, so I get 2-person tents for myself. I currently have the REI Clipper, but it's a bit heavy. I'm going to get the Sierra Designs Lighnting. it has a huge door so two can sit side-by-side, is 4 lbs packed, and it 7ft long. Check it out.

A bit spendy at 249.00, though.

Yeah I am the same way as Paul C. I got tired of the little space so I decided on a 2 person tent. I got Black Diamond Lighthouse, it's around 3lb,and so far I love it.

Black Diamond's Lighthouse is 7 feet 4 inches long, will sleep two and only weighs in at 3 lbs. 3 ozs. Plenty of room for you and your gear. I love mine.

You may want to look at the Particle 13 by North Face. The floor dimensions are 53" x 93" and it's total weight is 4lbs. I have had good luck with this tent in the northern Midwest for three season use.

If you are going to be primarily doing summer trips on non exsposed areas I would also recomend Henry Shires Tarp Tent. A very livable, light weight tent.

I have the Virga (solo)1lb 10oz and you dont have to be afraid of exposure it's a tough cookie. You just need something to secure the guys.

I like it alot

I'm 6'2", 200# and love my Hubba. After using a Walrus MicroSwift for years, the Hubba seems cavernous.

I really like Gem's Lighthouse.

For a 1P I use the Big Agness Seedhouse SL.

The tarptents are good. But with the insane amount of bugs in the northeast, I just can't let go of my MSR Zoid 1. Fully sewn in bathtub floor to keep out the flood, zips closed to keep all those critters out, down-to-earth fly to keep you dry in the rain, and a vestibule for your boots -- all for about 2.2 lbs.

Kinda hard to beat...

I like the MSR Zoid 1, byt has limited space and headroom.

I think if I don;t get the Sierra Lightning I'm going to get tthe MSR Hubba - lots of headroom.
