Eureka solo tents?

“I'm looking over at Campmor and I see two solo ultralights for unfer 100.00 from Eureka, the Solitaire tent the the Spitfire tent. Any reviews or experience?”

“I just received my Spitfire ($64.95 + $12.00 shipping, search eBay for Spitfire).
It has 7000 series aluminum poles and weighs 3lb. 4oz. as advertised. I looked it over pretty carefully and I like the construction and details. Plenty of headroom to sit up and change your shirt or jacket, very quick setup, excellent fly coverage, fly attaches using fastex buckles. The fly does need to be staked out (which forms the vestibule) for a taut pitch. Mind you, I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I'm quite impressed at this point and the price was great.

“Trailbum - I bought that tent for my weeklong trip in August. Did you read my trail report? Let's just say it rained - hard! The tent held up very well out of the box. Nothing inside the tent was even remotely damp. I did't have time to seam seal or anything. Did I mention how hard it rained? It was nice to have the extra headroom whne I was stuck inside for longer periods of time.
