They have announced that there was some problem at the water treatment plant and that we have to boil our tap water.

I assume that I can, but I guess I'd like to hear some confirmation. Can I just use my water filter or my Aqua Mira?

yep, unless the problem at the plant is viral. If its simply bacterial, then your fine.

They only said there was a loss of pressure, therefore we have to boil our water. I don't know what that means really.

It means there is a leak in the main somewhere and the water is potentially contaminated. You can probably just filter it.

Filtration is fine. We've had to do that a few times.

Why chance it. Just drink beer instead of water.

A town I used to live in did the same thing once. Only thing is, I didn't find out about it until way after the fact, so I never did boil, filter, or treat the water. Guess I got lucky - I didn't get sick :-)

You know, Woodzie, I suspect the same is true here. There is probably nothing wrong with the water, but they said that just to cover their butts.

Town Water?
What's that? My well used to be at 325' deep. Now it;s 710' deep & hydrofractured twice. Cost about 12k just to have water. Almost walked away from the house. Glad I didn't. It's been great for many years now. It is COLD & tastes great.

I'm jealous, Cats. I used to have well water, then filtered via reverse osmosis. By far the best water I have ever tasted.
