Need advice on Dog Packs

“Several TTer's have met Mindy my mixed Lab and chow and titled her Trail Dog. I also have an 8 month registered Black Lab 90 lbs and ready for the trail and have looked at several Dog Packs on the market.

Any TTer's have advice as too what you would recommend. Price is no problem. Thanks--------

“Also, consider some booties... especially until your dogs paws harden. They can also help protect the bandaging if your dog gets cut feet.”

“Thanks pedxing. I use the same pack for my older Lab and that pack is about 9 years old and still usable.
Has anyone used MountainSmith, Kelty, or ruffwear? Is there a pack on the market that has a hydration bladder in the packs?

pedxing !! I never use Booties until winter time. My labs run Free in the Mountains , Mt Rogers, and White Top. Virginia, but thanks for the Info. My Dogs are pure country, and tough as EarthNsky, and TownDog.

i got her the banzai pack... which is supposedly the best pack off the site:

she LOVES it... it hasn't seemed to give her any problems and there is plenty of space to store her food, water, towel, etc.

“i got a outwourd hound pack off ebay that i love...i don't know if all dog packs are designed this way but the harness and pack are two seperate pieces joined by velcro...when we stop for a rest or to cross a creek i can just lift the pack part off with out undoing all the straps”

“Wolfpacks are great packs. The website tells you how to measure your dog for a good fit - they definitely run big. Asher-dog weighs about 50 pounds and wears a small! lol

My originial wonderdog (RIP PatchyG) wore an Adventure 18, which was good in its day. Wolfpacks have a lot of unique features that I haven't seen elsewhere.

Asher loooooooves other dogs. We'll definitely have to get those 2 together. Maybe Bailey can help tire him out (remember how Asher "zooms" around (and around and around...) the campsite? LOL I think he thinks he's keeping "the herd" together or something. :)”
