One of the things that made this trip so special was the way many people went the "Extra Mile" to help others or add to the success of the trip. I would like to personally thank:

WLD - For getting Gemini and Solitary Hiker to the trailhead and reserving campsites even though he had to cancel on the trip for family reasons.

Hodge - For making sure that everyone got over the difficult parts of the trail, especially Forester Pass. Thanks for hanging back many times to make sure we slow-pokes were OK.

naviguesser - besides making sure that everyone stayed accounted for, also his behind-the-scenes help with planning and organizing and providing transportation for trekkngirl, Ewker, and War Eagle. Oh, yes...and Navi-ale, tagumet, and other "medicines".

jvz - For returning after he had to cancel his own trip to provide transportation and shuttle gear.

Snow Nymph - For figuring out how to get the extra gear back to Los Angeles and actually bringing it back for us.

Creekjumper - The "Mother Theresa" of the John Muir Trail.

songbyrd - for providing shelter during a hailstorm to a wayward hiker who probably didn't look or smell too good.

pepperDog, Shamus, and hikerchic - for providing transportation and/or accommodations so others could participate.

windwalker, landscaper, and others who set up camp after Forester Pass so we stragglers could make camp easily that night.

I am sure I missed some people because I couldn't observe everything (so forgive me if I did). I know of incidents of sharing of food, gear, first aid, encouragement, etc. as well as shuttling cars. The point is that the extra caring is what made this trip so great.

Thanks everyone, for going the extra mile. As my son said, "It is the people that makes these trips so great."

You couldn't have said it better Phil. I totally agree. There was so much sharing of everyone and everything. It was so great!

Thanks again Phil & others who helped organize this trip. This trip seemed like so much more of a production than the other paloozas, didn't it? I loved all of it though.

Have to look at other's pictures tomorrow. Tired. Oh yeah, I finally got "some" of my pictures up. Enjoy! http://community.webshots.com/user/hikerchic5

Songbyrd, why is the jucuzzi water urine-yellow in this pic? Could the expression on Gem's face may be the reason? LOL
