I will let others write the TR who are more capable than I.

But if a picture is worth a thousand words...let me mumble this...

It's hard to see in this small size but there are little switchbacks up the side of that peak. That is also Gemini's favorite snowfield!

Then I showed her Wind Walkers photos, "So THAT'S the reason you go backpacking!" is what she said.

I know I've seen that shelter before. Windwalker, the second picture you posted of Hodgeman looks like the same place that Gonzo took a picture of. Here's a link to his picture on his webshots album. http://community.webshots.com/photo/402486258/402511138hYkCeG Were you all on the same trip? Or did you happen to go to the same place close in time?

WOWZA!!! YAAAAAAA!!! Increddddible! Wind Walker, awesome shots and I can't wait to see more! Phil's son, I'm eager to see more of your outstanding shots too! You guys saw some of the best the High Sierra has to offer on this one!

Hey Winder Walker®, that upper Bubbs Creek area is some of my favorite scenery on earth! We have very similar shots of the creek and Center Peak, but the creek was quite a bit higher in your pic! Also the angle was slightly different but the landmarks and time of day are very very similar. For the amazing resemblence, check this comparison out!

The whole camp was yelling at me to get up and take this photo...Thanks Guys! I appreciate the wake up call =)

Only a Windwalker could sleep through thunder, lightning, hail and rain.

Cool shot Buck® looks like you were in the creek to get that shot! Which lens were you using...looks like a really wide angle.

shepherds pass trail did not exist.. it was gone. cross about 50ft of snow then around the corner to where switchbacks USED TO exist. scree ski all the way down to the snow..the last 75yds down on the snow.

this photo does not do it justice.. the slope is about 55deg if not slightly more.

anyway, i looked at my pictures and WOW...I can't wait to post them.

I need to say a big HUGE Thank You to Phil and his family. First Phil organized an awesome trip, then he took me into his house and fed me. Later on I will be getting a ride to the airport. I can not say how much I do appriciate the help.

I met a lot of great people.

We finally got home about 10:30 PM. Had to stop at Whoa Nellie's for lunch, and visit with Rockman at Tuolumne Meadows (huh?), and sit on hwy 580 for what seemed liked hours. I'm not sure if I'll get any photos up before I head out on the JMT.

Who said we had nice weather? Landscaper, Om, and I walked through thunder, lightening, rain, and hail for hours before hunkering down under her rainfly and waiting out the rest of the storm. The trail became a creek in minutes.

I especially liked Forrester Pass. Ha! Nah, the mosquitoes were my favorite. It's darn difficult to articulate what I liked, but I sure had a good time out there.
