Woooowhoooooo!

Amazing, just amazing. 17,000 miles per hour! I will never cease to be amazed at how cool it is that we are able to launch ourselves into space! So COOL!!!!

I hoped this would slide back to the next window in Sept. I'll be at Disney then.

Watched the shuttle launch start on TV and then went outside and watched as the shuttle came into view above some trees. Watched a few minutes until it disappeared behind clouds. The clouds were only a very slight haze the same blue color as the sky, but they hid the shuttle's flaming exhaust from view. I returned inside to watch the rest on TV.

It's nice to live in Florida.

Florida: Hot, humid, and full of Yankees.

What's not to like?

I'm so jealous that you guys got to watch it "for real"!

I was so nervous as it was making its way up. NASA really needs this to be a successful mission. It would be a heck of a shame to stop manned flights into space. And seriuosly, we are shooting people through the atmosphere at unbelievable speeds....in some ways it is to be expected that not every mission will be perfect.

Now, let's get them home safe and sound!

Woowhoo!

We went to the beach to watch the oaunch; we coundn't see boo. I could barely make out the contrail of the thing, and the glare was really bad. To make matters worse, I wore a new necklace HPM got me in Yellowstone (made of jet-very cool.) and one of the damn stones fell out of it, god only knows where. That's a major GRRRR!

I wonder?
The sand storm blowing from Africa may have caused the disappearance of the space shuttle in the clear blue sky this morning.

The sky wasn't clear blue for us; it was milky white with blue patches. Sunset liftoffs are usually gorgeous.

It was cool to see the thing go up from 80 miles away. I got to see one night launch and one day launch whilst I lived down there. And several rockets of lesser stature.

But I still prefer Colorado.
