Hey I am looking at this trip and was a wondering about the group size limit. I see two camps for sat night. And ifin I read correctly 8 per site. So what are the logistics for more than 16 persons?
I will be doing a shorter trip I believe also.

Now I want to weight my pack. I guess I could weigh myself on the bathroom scale with and without the pack and subtract. That would mean weighing myself on the scale and that's not a pleasant thought.

I would guess under 15 lbs. I'll have a lot of little junk. Way to go SC, I saw somewhere you were near or below 10 lbs. I haven't gone that light yet. I am too into gadgets.

I don't worry about pack weight. If it is heavy oh well, if it is light good for me.

Hmmm...studying the topo map, the 15 mile route looks pretty easy. Wouldnt be a death march. i am considering doing that one but I would probebly arrive in camp after sunset....

I cant decide :( It would be nice to get some miles in....

but if the newbies really want someong on the 10 mile route I will do that route.

YES! Now I just have to wait until the gramma's ready. I'd be gone by now if it weren't for Birch insisting on working (I guess someone has to do it) and Gramma working.

Pack is at 25.5 pounds with food and water. I'll add a bottle of wine to that sometime today. So, alittle heavier.

The two things that I did not want to happen this weekend have happened.

1. A ban on open fires has been issued for the entire state of Kentucky.

2. Rain in the forecast

It should be warm though so I guess I'll make it.

yikes, new it was getting dry, but didn't think we'd be getting fire bans yet. Will the ban stay in effect if it rains?

I want to take a lot of pictures so I may take the 10 mile route. That looks like you take the cut thru from Wet Prong to McCoy Hollow.

maybe I missed it but how did you figure the mileage for each route?

I put myself as going, but then checked the calendar at work and I'm on call that weekend. Does anyone know if there is wireless signal there? I' going to look and see if I can get someone to trade with me.
