I snagged a set of "Bug Skinz" base layers from Cabela's. Bugs cant bite thru them.

Be safe, spiritcoyote...

If you even THINK you MAY have been bitten, wait a couple of weeks and then have your doc test you for Lyme disease.

It is much easier to treat (and symptoms much less) if caught early.

They basically perform and feel as a thin base layer should, such as the Under Armor line, with the added bonus that the bugs cant penetrate. I have not yet worn them in the cold, but I have worn them in hot sticky conditions, while golf course pond night fishing. They obviously werent as comfy as just wearing a pair of shorts and sandals would have been temp-wise, but they werent stifling and they did a great job keeping the bugs from biting.

It is very important to get treatment. Trust me I'm living with Lyme now. If you get bit and can save the Tick, you can have the Tick tested as well.

Here's my story in case you've missed it...

These were large ticks, I thought it was only the little ones that give lyme disease?

Probably a safe assumption SC, but you never know. This is off of the CALDA website:

...Most cases of Lyme disease are thought to be caused by the smaller nyphal tick, since the adult tick is more easily felt crawling on the skin.
