I'm a crispy sad little redhead at the moment. Biked 30 miles yesturday and spent time at the beach and idiot that I am, forgot to sunscreen my legs.

Ouch.

Me 2 Twinkle T.
You can call me spot!!!
I did a fast-pack yesterday, and wound up with multiple sunburn spots. Looks pretty funny.
I have a couple of different places on both arms, face, and neck. Not a uniform burn by any means. I just thought nothing of the sunburn since I was seemingly in the shade for the most part.

Redheads burn easily.. I should know!

Use it as an excuse for someone to apply aloe vera!

I did that on a lake near Dallas once. Very much red hair in my family. 3/8 Irish, or something like that. Aloe vera gels helps! I also use aspirin or ibuprofen.

The last hike I did I burned my legs on top of already burned legs. The worse part was I was hiking through mud so I wore gaiters. When I finished the hike and took the gaiters off not only did I have a tan line, but also a mud line, my legs looked like Neapolitan ice cream.

I've got a sock line and bike shorts line. Except for my bum....there I have a bikini line. So, the front of my legs have a sock and bike short line and the back have a sock and bikini bottom line.

I wish I could fill my bathtub with lotion and soak myself in it...aahhhhhh that would feel so good!

Solar Recover Spray
turns your burn into a tan overnight!!!
well maybe not if you are burned as badly as the pic above. smells like lavender, and you can use it for a moisturizer when you aren't suffering from too much sun.

I used aloe gel on a sunburn once. It felt good, but I didn't know that it doesn't "rub in" so I kept applying it. My skin got all grody and I was freaking out, then I realized I had this huge layer of dried out aloe gel on my shoulders/back. It took a while to wash the stuff off, but it felt so good on the burn I put it right back on again!

Aloe with a little lidocaine is my standard treatment for sunburn.

I'm really concerned about that bikini line problem. Doctors Bit & Stove need to check it out. Picture please, it's for your own good.

I went out with my friend on Chesepeake Bay out of Norfolk, VA for like a 30 min boat ride to check the motor, plane, or whatever.... we broke down MILES from shore !!! For the short trip, All I had on was cut-off Levis..... 4 or so hours later, and NOTHING to cover me with, not even a towel,we got a tow in ..... That was July 4th, 1977. The reason I remember it so vividly is that, the next day, July 5th, I went in to get "neutered". The doc had to treat me for sunpoisoning first prior to any attempt at the clipping.
I was about 6 shades worse than BowlderMan !! Needless to say, I lost a weeks work.
Yeah, be careful out there folks !!

And NO, I'm not showing any pics of the clipping !!! ha ha ha ha ha

I used to work (manage) a tanning salon while in college. We got all kinds of info sent to us from tanning beds to what you do incase you burn.

For burns, make sure to apply a lot of vitamin E. If you peel right away, this is because your skin is lacking this nutrient. E is found in a lot of tanning oils and lotions so it can get into the skin while you are tanning and start building up your reserves.

The best way to do it and if you can find it this way is to find E packaged like the bath oils in the melt away packages. Throw a few into lukewarm bath water and lay in it for awhile. Dry off and apply a small amount of E lotion on the bad areas.

Aloe Vera is great for burns. You can buy it in pharmacy stores.

Boy my sunburn took a new turn yesterday. I felt my shoulder and it felt rough. I thought, "Oh I must be starting to peal.". So I gave a good scratch and my hand was wet. WTF? I have thousands of tiny water blisters all over my shoulders and back. I've never had that before. Itches like a sonofabytch!
