Hello Everyone!

“I just wanted to introduce myself to TT and let you all know a little about myself. My name is Paul and I live in Tehachapi, California (it's a little mountain town just north of Los Angeles). I've only been backpacking for about 6 months and have hiked most of the local peaks in my area. Looking to do the PCT sometime in the coming years, and planning to do Whitney and White Mountain very soon. I would like to put together a weekend hike sometime soon on the portion of the PCT located near me.
I have been reading TT for some time now and you all seem like a very nice group of folks, Sarge kinda scares me though. Anyhow, looking forward to meeting some of you all soon in our hiking adventures!”

Not sure if Tehachapi is a typical California city...what's the average temperature in the summer?”

“Tehachapi, at an elevation of 3,998 feet, may be a little cooler.
They even have an airport there.

“Phil, the average temp is in the upper 70's to low 80's during the summertime. However, right now it's in the 90's. Winter is nothing but damn cold, and plenty of snow. The "Looney Bin" Spirit Coyote? Been there, done that, kinda liked it. I think I'm gonna like it here! Sorry Bonecrusher, my trail buddy named me that because I'm a little too aggressive with my pace when I hike.
