Wooohoooo! got a reservation!!!

“My wife and I are celebrating our 23rd Wedding Anniversary on the 14th of this month. So I was trying to find somewhere cool to take Leslie....well I found it!

We have reservations for a small cabin at the Evergreen Lodge near Hetch Hetchy !!!
No phones and no TV!!! Just a quiet little setting in the woods with our own private deck :)


We have been to Yosemite many many times...but have never ventured over to Hetch Hetchy...so we are both very excited about this little getaway!”

“Nice!! One of the guys who started the little company that developed TOPO! (that was later bought by Nat'l Geo) went to work there as a guide after leaving TOPO! Don't think he's there any more, since his next stop was going to be law school.”

“Pixie....you've never heard of Hetch Hetchy??? There was a small war over the Hetch Hetchy Valley....it's Yosemite Valley's little sister...and they turned it into a lake. John Muir was very upset over losing that battle.”

“I kept seeing signs for it, but didn't know what it was or if it was named after a person, or what.
The name reminded me of my nickname for my friend: "Hutchy"”

“How 'bout Internet access? You do not appear to have adequate justification to be excused from visiting TT each day. Does Hetch Hetchy Valley have a library with Internet access? If not, you must find some way of maintaining contact here or I will have to convene a meeting of the TT Governors. Punishment for deliberate infractions can be harsh. Please act accordingly.”

“WW, no, it was one of the other guys. Tom something? Jeez, I can't remember now. I talked to him on the phone shortly after they were bought out and he was about to leave.”

Backpacker Magazine had an article on a great hike in Hetch Hetchy a few years back. It was to a beautiful lake. The area looked awesome. Enjoy!”
