Looking for water info

“Does anyone know of a good site or information resource for water information of a given area. Basically, I'm talking about what's in the water, viruses, bacteria, parasites, etc.”

I read on the National Forest Isle Royle in MI that MIOX can't kill a particular parasitic worm's egg (can't recall the name of the worm) but I am hiking in Northern Michigan this weekend and I hoping to find out info about water in rivers and streams of that area, preferrably around the Gaylord, East Jordan area.”
