Cheney vacationing in southeastern Montana
Associated Press

Vice President Dick Cheney is vacationing in southeastern Montana, starting with some fishing on the Big Horn River.

The Big Horn Angler fly shop in Fort Smith sold some trout flies to Secret Service agents.

"They came in a couple days prior to his arrival and floated the river," said Glenn Strickland, manager of the fly shop.

Cheney arrived in Billings on Air Force Two on Monday morning. The plane remains at Billings Logan International Airport, along with a C-17 cargo plane and several helicopters. It's unclear how long the vice president will be in Montana.

My dad loves to go fish on the Bighorn. All of these fly fishing "enthusiasts" are working their butts off to catch something, and my dad throws a big honkin' night crawler in there and hooks some giant brown trout. Then he takes it home with him, for christs sake!

Sandra Day O'Connor was here last week fishing over on the the Boulder River--about the same time you guys were up, HPM.

I like the Secret Service guys that had to come up early and float the river! Nice duty!

So your Dad is one of those "Catch and Eat" guys, huh, Bowlder? I polished off a nice cutthroat last night from our trip to Moon Lake this weekend. We grilled it on a cedar plank from some salmon we just had. Really gives it a nice flavor.

No kidding.
If I ever obtain high office my security detail had better be outdoors people.

Bob, your assignment is to thru-hike the CDT to assess any security concerns and scout out awesome campsites.

GO OLD BOWLDERMAN!!!!! I like it when people catch and eat. As long as you follow the rules and never take more than you are allowed then eating fish isn't a bad thing.

my haliburton comment was in reference to whom was paying for the trip. This is what happens when you get called away from your desk while posting to TT. Darn work, anyway!
