anyone been to a wedding in the smokies?

“we've been looking to get married somewhere in the smokies. the problem is that most places only have a chapel and don't really offer an outside service. the couple of places we've come across that offer an outside ceremony with a good view cost an arm and a leg.
does anyone have any ideas or know of anywhere we could look into? planning a wedding gets so tiring after a while.”

“i guess i need to clarify. i think getting married actually in the park is out because we will be a total of 35 people. i was talking about in the area, like gatlinburg or something.

No, but I got married in one of the Churchs in Cades Cove a bunch of years ago. ;-)

All it took was a permit from the park service and a deposit for any damage.

We did it in winter when few tourons were about.”

“A wedding in the Smokies would imply a trip to Gatlinburg. No way, I'd do it. I'd rather get married in inner city Detroit.”

“Be aware, Smokies weddings usually involve one or more shotguns. However, most wedding packages do come with matching bride and groom air-brush t-shirts...so it's go that going for it.”
